Series - Disclaimer

Many times I have sat down to write more on our series, but something stops me. We have interesting ideas about childern, how to raise them, if we can or want to be parents. Please take none of what we write personally. They are our own thoughts and feelings and that it is. That is my only disclaimer.

This Week Update

On Friday we fly to Vegas to meet my dad and step-mom.  We are going to NASCAR with them.  They will drive the coach down on Thursday and get everything ready to go.  We have a front row spot on Motorhome Hill, though I have no idea what that even means.  My dad also got us tickets to the "Neon Garage", which is suppose to be pretty cool.  Frankie and I have never been to a NASCAR race so it will be fun.  We will also get to see Rachel while we are there!! Yeah.  Here is a special thanks to Bobby and Andrea for house sitting and puppy sitting.  I am going to miss my puppers so much!

Series - Thinking About Trying

I am starting a new series on our little blog. It should be interesting to say the least. The series will be about our new adventure to “think about having a baby”. I am deciding to blog about it so that everyone can stay updated and stop asking us questions.
A year ago, deciding to have a baby would have meant by adoption or surrogate mother only. Why you ask? Well the fact that I have diabetes and it would be a high risk pregnancy and that I DO NOT want to pass down the gene for diabetes to my child, are just a few reasons. I had made my decision years ago to not have a child and Frankie knew that when we got married and accepted it. Also he has Alex so he wasn’t missing anything so we were both fine with the idea. However…..however…however so many things happen …and life changes….and you grow up….and ect…..
About 8 months ago we started doing research. We found out that adopting a younger child was brutally expensive and almost impossible to do in the US. So then we thought if we were going to pay that much anyway, way not use an egg that doesn’t carry the trait for diabetes, Frankie’s genes and a healthy women to carry the baby….this was even more expensive.
To make a very long and emotional story short, on Wednesday Feb 17th, 2010 we got the approval from my diabetic doctor to “considering having the baby myself”. Wow talk about a huge shock to both Frankie and I. This is now leading us in a whole new direction. The diabetic doctor made an appointment for us to meet with an OBGYN who’s specialty is high risk pregnancies. We will meet with him in March just to start asking some basic questions….we will update from there.

The Last of Valentine's Day 2010

This lovely little box of chocolates was left as a surprise on my door, along with some of the best sugar cookies I have ever eaten.  In fact the sugar cookies were so good that they were gone before I could even get to my camera to take a picture of them.  Here is a BIG thank you to Amber, Henry, and adorable Max for treats on my favorite day!  We love you guys!!!

The watch was my Valentines Day gift from my sweet Frankie.  It looks great on and the box is beyond cute, it has love birds on it.  What a great guy.

And the gifts keep comin'

Yesterday Frankie sent these beautiful flowers to my office.

Then my mom and dad gave us a pizza in the shape of a heart, which we cooked right away and ate!  It was very yummy but sad to cut the heart into pieces.

Add this is Frankie's gift, which I gave him early.  It is a handmade coupon book...and the last coupon had tickets to March Madness here in SLC.  I guess it is suppose to be a big deal.  He was very very happy!

Alex's Valentines Day Gift

So we decided to send something to Alex for V-day.  We thought long and hard about it and finally came up with the perfect idea.  Alex loves snow, if you dont know and we wanted to send him something to remind him of home....

On top of that...I think I have put together the perfect gift for my husband....but you will have to wait to hear about it until after V-day.  I dont want to ruin the surprise!!

Super Bowl 2010

So I thought we were going to have just a couple people over, but a few turned into 20.  Superbowl 2010 at our new house.  Yes the cupcakes were made by yours truely!! Henry is a big Colts fan.  Too bad they didnt win this year.  Sad.

We had so much food.  All of the counter top were covered.
Henry and Amber brought potstickers, cookies and an amazing salad. Nate and Brandy brought their famous dip.  Megan brought pasta salad which I had for lunch today.  Katie had to out do me with her  Red velvet cupcakes.  Bobby and Andrea made awesome wings!!  Nicole and Tim brought brownies that melted in your mouth.

There was a surprise visit from Monica who just got back from New York City.  And there were lots of babies.  That is a new thing for our group of friends.  This was Owen and Roman's first Superbowl.
Good Times Had By All!!

NASCAR really??? Yes really!!!

So a big and wonderful surprise from my dad and mom.  Frankie and I are going to NASCAR with them.  We have never been to NASCAR before so we are super excited, though we are going over our very good friend Henry's Birthday.  That part is sad, but maybe I wont break my foot again over his birthday weekend.  We are staying on Motorhome Hill, which I guess is the spot to be.  We will have to let you know how it is....

Dinner Table

Glitter roses and a dressed up dinner table.

My glitter roses do not seem to be showing up very well in pictures, but at least they look great on the table and they are very Valentine's Dayish.  Thanks to Martha and her wonderful glitter set....now I can glitter everything!!

The blue and brown plates are from our wedding (those were our wedding colors so everything I bought in 2007 was brown and blue).

The dinner included an amazing salad, lemon chicken piccata with capers, a super yummy broccoli dish, and a wonderful cherry dessert.  The only thing missing is a bigger dining room table.  We need more seating.....
